In 2026, the Pont-à-Mousson Basin Tourist Office celebrates an exceptional anniversary: 100 years of commitment to serving our destination.
100 Years Alongside a Territory
One hundred years is much more than a date. It is a century of welcoming, discoveries, encounters and initiatives to make the riches of the Pont-à-Mousson Basin known to generations of visitors… but also to its inhabitants.
For a century, the same conviction has driven those involved in the Tourist Office: a territory deserves to be discovered when it is told with passion.
BPAM Tourism

A story that goes hand in hand with that of the territory
Over the course of a century, our region has undergone profound economic, social, and tourism-related changes. The way we view our heritage, landscapes, leisure activities, and visitor experience has gradually transformed. The Tourist Office has supported each of these stages, driven by the same ambition: to showcase our local treasures and inspire others to discover them.
1926 • The birth of the Tourist Information Office
It all began in 1926 with the creation of the Pont-à-Mousson Tourist Office. At that time, tourism was gradually taking shape in France. Already, passionate volunteers were working to welcome visitors, publish promotional materials, and raise awareness of the town far beyond its borders. The minutes of the general meetings bear witness to remarkable enthusiasm and a genuine desire to innovate in order to enhance the region's appeal.
The first promotional actions
Among the memorabilia preserved in the archives are the trips organized to Paris to promote Pont-à-Mousson to an ever-growing audience. At a time when communication did not rely on the internet or social media, these initiatives already demonstrated a strong ambition: to meet visitors and promote the region where the destinations of tomorrow were being built.
A vision already geared towards cooperation
Long before tourism became organized on a regional scale, the Tourist Office already maintained relationships with neighboring areas. Archives mention collaborations between the Vosges, Alsace, and Lorraine regions, foreshadowing a conviction that still guides our actions today: destinations are stronger when they work together. This culture of partnership has always been a central theme in our history.
Generations of dedicated volunteers
Throughout this century, several generations of presidents, administrators, employees and partners have succeeded one another.
Each person, with their own time and vision, has contributed to the evolution of the Tourist Office, to developing new services, to promoting local heritage and to strengthening the reception of visitors.
This story is above all a human adventure, built thanks to the commitment of those who have always believed in the potential of the territory.
2017 • A new dimension for the destination
The entry into force of the NOTRe law marks a major step.
The responsibility for tourism promotion has been entrusted to the Communauté de Communes du Bassin de Pont-à-Mousson, allowing the destination to be considered on a territorial scale. This development opens a new dynamic: that of a shared tourism strategy, capable of showcasing the full diversity of the Pont-à-Mousson Basin, from its villages to its natural spaces, from its remarkable heritage to its local expertise.
2024 • A strengthened ambition with the creation of the EPIC
On September 1, 2024, a new chapter begins with the creation of BPAM Tourisme, a Public Industrial and Commercial Establishment.
This development reflects a strong political will: to give the Tourist Office the means to sustainably support the tourism development of the destination.
The EPIC promotes governance that involves elected officials and tourism professionals. This cooperation allows for the development of a collective strategy that closely aligns with the expectations of both visitors and local stakeholders.

100 years later, the same ambition
Today, the Tourist Office assists visitors before, during and after their stay.
It advises, informs, connects with professionals, promotes events, develops new services, supports accommodation providers, supports local initiatives and contributes to the influence of the Pont-à-Mousson Basin far beyond its borders.
Behind these missions is a team, convinced that every encounter, every piece of advice and every experience contributes to making people love our territory.
The Pont-à-Mousson Basin is based on authenticity, offering each visitor a unique experience, whether they are a lover of heritage, culture or simply looking for relaxation.
BPAM TourismA summer of testimonials to tell the story of this wonderful adventure
To mark the centenary, we wanted to give a voice to those who bring our destination to life.
Throughout the summer, elected officials, partners, tourism professionals, associations and local personalities reflect, through a series of videos, on their memories, their vision of the territory and their attachment to the Tourist Office.
Their testimonies illustrate the same reality: for a hundred years, tourism has been above all a collective adventure.
To celebrate this centenary, the Tourist Office invites residents, visitors, partners and curious onlookers to share an exceptional moment on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September 2026 on Place Duroc.
As night falls, a unique light show will transform the façade of the Town Hall and tell, in images and emotions, a century of history, heritage and tourism.
Much more than a show, this event will be an opportunity to celebrate a territory that has always known how to welcome, innovate and reinvent itself.
