- Le French garden, which highlights the abbey's main courtyard.
- Le Moselle Garden, a haven of peace on the banks of the river where you can enjoy a break to admire magnificent views.
Day 2: Art and History, witnesses to a tumultuous past
Continue your immersion in the city's history with a visit to the Church of Saint-Laurent, a veritable treasure trove of history and religious art. This 13th-century building has endured many challenges, from the French Revolution to numerous wars.
The Pont-à-Mousson Basin Tourist Office offers you a unique visit to discover the hidden treasures of this church : the Antwerp altarpiece of Philip of Guelders, an emblematic figure of the Duchy of Lorraine, the sculptures of the master Ligier Richier, and many other precious works which will make your visit an unforgettable moment.
Then direction the Museum Along the Paper, A place not to be missed. Located just steps from the Saint Laurent Church and the famous Place Duroc, this museum has been showcasing the unique technique of papier-mâché since the 19th century. Discover exceptional furniture in the pure Rococo style and astonishing objects that bear witness to an era.
Through these works, the museum also traces the history of the Adt family, of German origin, who settled in Pont-à-Mousson after the war of 1870. The establishment of their business and their unique know-how in the manufacture of papier-mâché furniture largely contributed to the economic growth of the town.
